Levadas (levadas.live) is a live service. By using it you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short and plain.
The 0 to 100 score is an algorithmic estimate to help you plan. It is not a safety clearance and not a guarantee. An official IFCN closure always overrides the score, no matter how good conditions look. Always check official IFCN trail status, the weather, and your own judgement before you set out. Mountains change fast.
Levadas is an information and planning tool. It is not professional safety, medical, or rescue advice, and not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 112.
Some safety information is gathered automatically and can be delayed or incomplete. For example, satellite fire detections (NASA FIRMS) carry roughly a three hour lag, show an approximate area rather than an exact spot, and can miss small, cool, or cloud covered fires. Treat all of it as a hint, not an official source.
Levadas translates live weather, official status, and other public data into a planning view for Madeira trails. Data refreshes roughly every 20 minutes and can be wrong, stale, or missing. We provide it as is, with no warranty of accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the extent allowed by law, Levadas and its operator are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from use of the service or reliance on its information. The service is offered as-is, without guarantees.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you keep all the mandatory rights that the law of your own country gives you; these terms do not override them.
Some features may be sold as paid passes that grant temporary premium access, starting when you first activate the pass by signing in. Passes are sold by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record. It is the seller of record, runs the checkout, and collects and remits any tax that applies, including EU VAT. Refunds and the EU withdrawal right are set out in our Legal & Payments page.
