Getting there by bus
The nearest public bus stop to the Levada do Poço do Bezerro trailhead is Poiso (69002), 1.8 km away. That is a straight line on the map and not a walk: on this terrain the climb between the two can matter more than the distance.
The timetable we hold ran until July 30, 2026 and no newer one has been published, so departure times are not shown. The stop and the lines serving it (PA) are unchanged.
Horários do Funchal is the only Madeira operator that publishes a machine-readable timetable. A trail without this block is one we hold no bus data for, not one no bus reaches.
About Levada do Poço do Bezerro
This is a short levada path in the Ribeiro Frio area of Madeira's mountainous interior, following an old water channel through the damp, mossy laurel forest of the Laurissilva. Despite its modest length the route gains height steeply on narrow, root-covered ground that can be slippery, and it works mainly as a connector between the Levada do Furado and the higher Chão das Feiteiras ground. Along the channel you pass small cascades and quiet pools fed by the streams that drain this part of the range.
Levada do Poço do Bezerro (L-BEZERRO) is a round trip route of about 3.8 km in Madeira.
What you'll see
Along the way you'll find a levada water-channel path, laurel forest (laurisilva), waterfalls and endemic Madeiran flora.

The sun and shade reading comes from the slope's aspect and steepness, so it describes terrain shading and not tree cover.
